We are conducting three On Farm Apple Tours this Sunday 1 September 2024. Orchard tours are 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 starting at the Appalachian Ridge Artisan Hard Cidery, 588 Chestnut Gap Rd. Hendersonville 28792. During your wagon tour, you will see a commercial apple nursery and learn how trees are propagated and grown. Another stop at the Henderson County Apple Variety Block where over 150 fresh and cider varieties are grown, researching what varieties grow and taste the best in our region. Last stop at Appalachian Ridge Cidery where you can enjoy Normandy type ciders and why they are so special. At the forefront of our cider production is Marvin Owings—a master Pomologist whose extensive knowledge and experience have been instrumental in cultivating these remarkable varieties. Through a process of meticulous trial and error, Marvin has developed a selection of apples that are not only delicious but also pay homage to apple cultivation history.
